Nitish Kumar has no moral right to celebrate JP Narayan's birth anniversary: BJP

The BJP has launched a scathing attack on Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar ahead of JP Narayan's birth anniversary tomorrow (By Staff Reporter) A massive war of words erupted between the BJP and the Janata Dal United ahead of the birth anniversary celebrations of socialite leader Jai Prakash Narayan tomorrow (October 11). Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Sitab Diara in Chapra - the ancestral village of Jai Prakash Narayan tomorrow to pay tribute to the leader who is believed to be the mentor of Bihar politicians like Lalu Prasad Yadav and Nitish Kumar. Shah will also unveil a statue of JP built by the central government at a cost of Rs 4.72 crore and preside over a function to mark his birth anniversary. The same day, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be in Nagaland to participate in JPs birth anniversary celebration in Dimapur. However, the BJP has launched a scathing attack on the Bihar chief minister ahead of JP's birth anniversary. BJPs Bihar unit chief Dr Sanjay Jaiswal maintained that Nitish Kumar was so scared of JP that he decided to run away to Nagaland. Jaiswal also took potshots at Kumar for observing the death anniversary of JP for the first time on October 8.Interestingly, Nitish Kumar visited Sitab Diara on October 8 to mark JP's death anniversary - for the first time since 2005 when he took over as chief minister."Nitish Kumar has now become so scared of JP that he is running away to Nagaland. He never celebrated JP's death anniversary but now he has done that also, Jaiswal said. Former deputy chief minister of Bihar and the BJPs Rajya Sabha MP Sushil Kumar Modi also came down heavily on Nitish Kumar for forging an alliance with Lalu Prasad Yadav despite several corruption cases against him and said that Kumar compromised with corruption against which JP was extremely vocal. "Nitish Kumar has compromised with corruption and formed a government with Lalu Prasad Yadav who is serving a sentence in four corruption cases. Nitish Kumar has no moral right to pay tribute to JP on the occasion of his birth anniversary. Nitish Kumar has also allied with the Congress against whom JP fought all his life. The people of Bihar will never forgive Kumar for this, Sushil Modi said.
