Prince Harry’s Spare becomes UK’s fastest selling non-fiction book

Prince Harry’s memoir, titled Spare, has become the UK’s fastest selling non-fiction book.

(SAI Bureau)Prince Harry’s memoir, titled Spare, has become the UK’s fastest selling non-fiction book ever. The Duke of Sussex’s autobiography was officially released on January 10. Its publishers said on Tuesday that they had sold 400,000 copies so far across hardback, e-book and audio formats.
"We always knew this book would fly but it is exceeding even our most bullish expectations," Transworld Penguin Random House Managing Director Larry Finlay said in a statement. "As far as we know, the only books to have sold more in their first day are those starring the other Harry (Potter),” he added. In his book, Prince Harry has made an array of bombshell revelations about his life and his royal family members. The Royal family, however, has not commented on Harry’s memoir. Several extracts from the book were leaked prior to the book’s release after its Spanish language edition mistakenly went on sale in some shops in Spain.

Prince Harry, in his memoir, has narrated a heated row with his brother Prince William. He has also mentioned that he and William begged their father not to marry Camilla. The Duke of Sussex has also admitted to taking drugs and also opened up about Princess Diana’s death. He has confessed that he believed for a very long time that his mother was faking her death. Sparing no details, Harry has even mentioned how he lost his virginity in his book.

The release of the book is followed by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s Netflix documentary. The couple stepped down as senior members of the Royal family in January 2020 and then moved to California to forge a new life.
