5 interesting ways to add matcha green tea to your diet

We have often heard of green tea and its many benefits for the body. The resurgence of this potent antioxidant-rich tea has been quite the hype over the last few years, with matcha being the most nutritious type.
Matcha green tea is a finely ground powder, mostly consumed in East Asia. It is often consumed for medicinal purposes, usually due to its bitter taste. However, being rich in antioxidants and EGCG (epigallocatechin gallate), matcha is less acidic as compared to black tea.
Some benefits of matcha include a state of alert relaxation, it can calm you down without causing drowsiness. It can even increase your metabolism and improve your heart health. Green tea boosts metabolism and helps with weight loss, in addition to a no-sugar diet. It can even lower blood pressure and boost immunity. But if you don't want to have matcha in the form of tea due to its distinct bitter taste, you can still enjoy the benefits in other forms.
India Today spoke to Rudra Chatterjee, Managing Director of Luxmi Tea Group, about the different ways matcha green tea can be included in your diet for healthy living.
