Wilawan Emsawat, a 35-year-old woman nicknamed "Sika Golf," has been arrested for allegedly seducing senior Buddhist monks and extorting them for a staggering 385 million baht (~$11.9M)!

Emsawat is accused of luring at least nine high-ranking monks into romantic relationships, violating their vows of celibacy, and then blackmailing them with over 80,000 explicit photos and videos found on her phones.

Police say she spent most of the money on online gambling, burning through millions while targeting monks for financial gain. At least nine abbots have been defrocked, and the scandal has sparked nationwide outrage, with calls for reform in temple finances and monastic conduct.

Wilawan, arrested at her luxury home in Nonthaburi, faces charges of extortion, money laundering, and receiving stolen goods. She’s admitted to relationships with some monks, claiming she "fell in love," but the evidence paints a darker picture of calculated deceit.
