PM Shehbaz Sharif thanked Saudi Prince Mohammed bin Salman for taking steps towards boosting the economy of Pakistan

(SAI Bureau) Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed gratitude towards Saudi Arabian Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman for supporting Resilient Pakistan (a step taken by the Pakistan government and the United Nations to bring together international donors to support the people and the Pakistan government after the devastating floods of 2022) and announcing one billion dollars for it.The Pakistan PM also thanked the Saudi prince for his decision to consider increasing investment up to 10 billion dollars and depositing 5 billion dollars into the Pakistan central bank. “Pakistan sincerely thanks HRH Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman for Saudi Arabia's generous announcement of $1 billion @ Resilient Pakistan. We are immensely grateful for his decision to consider increasing Saudi investment up to $10 billion & deposits with SBP to $5 billion,” wrote Shehbaz Sharif on Twitter. Saudi Arabia on Tuesday said it could increase its investments in the cash-strapped Pakistan economy to $10 billion as well as increase the ceiling on deposits into the Pakistan central bank to $5 billion, reported the news agency Reuters. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has directed a study to increase Saudi Arabian investments to $10 billion, from the previous $1 billion announced in August. He has also asked the Saudi Development Fund (SDF) to consider raising the ceiling for Saudi deposits into the Pakistan central bank as part of measures to support the struggling economy.
