Ajay Devgn, Vaani Kapoor react to replacing Ileana D'Cruz in Raid 2

After the Raid 2 trailer was released recently, many noticed actor Ileana D'Cruz's absence in it. In fact, Vaani Kapoor and Ajay Devgn were both asked questions about replacing her during the recently held trailer launch event.Vaani Kapoor said, "No jealousy with the previous one. We share a great equation off-screen. You just try to play your part in the most authentic manner and follow the brief of the director and writer. This film showcases a different side of me. It felt new and refreshing.”Devgn also spoke about it and mentioned, "You see it in a lot of Hollywood films as well. Still, Sean Connery is not the only James Bond. It’s the character you follow, and then new people keep coming in.”Directed by Raj Kumar Gupta, who also helmed the first Raid, the film is set to release in cinemas on May 1. The Panorama Studios production also features Rajat Kapoor, Supriya Pathak, and Amit Sial, among others.Raid 2 is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Kumar Mangat Pathak, Abhishek Pathak, and Krishan Kumar.
It is presented by T-Series. Initially scheduled for release on November 15, 2024, the film was delayed due to post-production work.
The first Raid, which starred Ileana D’Cruz, was based on a real-life income tax raid conducted in the 1980s.
