Dr. Neha Gupta, an Oklahoma pediatrician has been arrested, she is accused of killing her 4-year-old daughter while on vacation in Florida, and allegedly staging her daughter's drowning.

She was arrested in Oklahoma City on July 1 and has been extradited to face charges in Miami-Dade County, Fla., where she is being held without bond. She has pleaded not guilty.

The video shows U.S. Marshals knocking on the door, asking her to come out, and saying that they have a warrant. After a few minutes of no response, the police busted down the door and went room by room searching for Gupta. Five and a half minutes into the search, an officer removed a child lock from a sliding door. That’s where they found Gupta was hiding in what appeared to be a laundry room.

Officers placed her into custody. Gupta is currently being held without bond in a Miami-Dade County jail.

Police allege that early on the morning of June 27, Gupta called 911 from a short-term rental on NW 90th Street in El Portal — about 7 miles north of downtown Miami — to report that her child was drowning in the pool. Responding officers found the 4-year-old unresponsive in the pool and transported her to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

But water was not found in child's lungs, which would be expected in drownings. Also, doctors found cuts in her mouth and bruising in the girl's cheeks, according to her June 29 autopsy.

By "investigative means and consultation with the Miami-Dade State Attorney's Office," police say they obtained an arrest warrant on murder charges for Gupta, and she was arrested at her home in Oklahoma City on July 1.
