SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA – Law enforcement officials in San Joaquin County have announced a significant breakthrough in their efforts to combat organized crime, revealing the dismantling of a violent international crime ring with alleged ties to India. The announcement follows the arrest of eight suspected gang members accused of horrific acts including kidnapping and torture.
The suspects, whose ages range from their mid-20s to 40s, were taken into custody on July 11th, less than a month after the alleged crime took place. The arrests were the culmination of coordinated raids conducted across multiple cities within the region, including Stockton’s upscale Brookside area, Manteca, and various locations in Stanislaus County.
During the extensive investigation and subsequent operations, authorities seized a substantial cache of illegal firearms and cash. Recovered items include five handguns, an assault rifle, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and multiple high-capacity magazines.
Investigators also confiscated more than $15,000 in cash, believed to be proceeds from criminal activities.
This successful operation was the result of a robust collaborative effort among various law enforcement agencies. The San Joaquin County Sheriff’s Office spearheaded the investigation, working in seamless coordination with elite teams from the Stockton Police Department, Manteca Police Department, Stanislaus County Sheriff’s Office, and the FBI SWAT teams.
The arrests mark a critical blow to a criminal enterprise that officials describe as violent and far-reaching, underscoring the commitment of local and federal agencies to ensuring public safety and combating organized crime across borders.
