Republican State Senator Peter Oberacker announces candidacy for New York’s 19th Congressional District:

The Otsego County Republican announced in a campaign video late Sunday that he is making a bid for New York's 19th Congressional District, currently held by Democratic Rep. Josh Riley.

Oberacker released a campaign video titled “Soil” that shares his personal journey from working in his family’s meat market to building a successful business. The videos highlights his faith and values, reminding viewers “we are all rooted in the same soil.” Link that video has been in the comments section of this news.

New York’s 19th Congressional District covers all of Tompkins County, Broome, Chenango, Otsego, Delaware, Green, Sullivan, and Columbia Counties. It also includes a portion of Ulster, Rensselaer, and Cortland Counties. Including in Cortland County the towns/villages of Solon, Taylor, Virgil, Marathon, Harford, and Willet.
